So I am a regular XL (size 16-18 in jeans) and I read a review that said size down in these. I did not size down and these were still suuuuuper fitted on me. I ended up giving them to my roommate who is a size L and she loves them. The material did feel breathable - I just prefer a little more movement with my shorts.
